Michael Robertson 1940 |
The above was taken from the 1940 Federal Census taken in April 1940. Michael O Robertson is listed
as being one month old so he was probably born in March of 1940. The head of the household was his
grandmother Lucille Myers and his father John Regis Robertson 29 also lived in the home. A brother
regis 1936-1975 also lived there. The home was listed as the Southwestern Osteopathic Sanitarium.
In the 1955 Kansas census the family lived at 415 N. Broadview in Wichita, Kansas.
As another of their early tasks, the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons founders decided to allow
interns who had fulfilled certain requirements the
opportunity to work at other hospitals for a period of one month; all of their expenses were paid.
This was the first time trainees were able to participate in a so-called "out-service" program.
Participating hospitals included Southwest Osteopathic Sanitorium in Wichita, Kansas; Monte Sano Hospital in Los Angeles,
California; Lakeside Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri; and Massachusetts Osteopathic Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
The sanitarium was located at Douglas and Rutan.
