Well, you asked for it, so here it is. The selfie calls for a sense of humor, I am amazed at what has happened to that youngster I once was.

Living the dream in Tampa, Florida. Still married to my first wife, Pat (56 years - years married, not her age). Losing my hair on my head but gaining it on my ears and nose. Now have a bovine heart valve and missing my gallbladder but otherwise doing great. The last five years I have spent more time in the hospital than I did throughout my entire life before now but I guess that is pretty common for our age group.

Every now and then I consider making a pilgrimage to Wichita but since I no longer have any family there and I doubt Babich would actually let me play with that "new" hotrod Ford he has, so I keep putting it off. It is good to hear about the get togethers and I am enjoying the pictures. Thank you.

I married at 24. My wife passed away when I was 62. We had 5 daughters (one deceased), 12 grandchildren (6 unmarried) and 9 great grandchildren with another due in December. My oldest grandson is getting married this week and his brother next may, so I am sure the totals will be going up. Still working part time in the grocery industry because I enjoy it. My health is not the greatest but things start wearing out at 85, but i'm hanging in there. Let God's will be done! Still living in metro Wichita with my youngest daughter.

Michael Robertson 1940

The above was taken from the 1940 Federal Census taken in April 1940. Michael O Robertson is listed as being one month old so he was probably born in March of 1940. The head of the household was his grandmother Lucille Myers and his father John Regis Robertson 29 also lived in the home. A brother regis 1936-1975 also lived there. The home was listed as the Southwestern Osteopathic Sanitarium. In the 1955 Kansas census the family lived at 415 N. Broadview in Wichita, Kansas.

As another of their early tasks, the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons founders decided to allow interns who had fulfilled certain requirements the opportunity to work at other hospitals for a period of one month; all of their expenses were paid. This was the first time trainees were able to participate in a so-called "out-service" program. Participating hospitals included Southwest Osteopathic Sanitorium in Wichita, Kansas; Monte Sano Hospital in Los Angeles, California; Lakeside Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri; and Massachusetts Osteopathic Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. The sanitarium was located at Douglas and Rutan.
